Master’s thesis student in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science or a related discipline (from EPFL or worldwide; minimum duration expected to be spent in the group is 6 months)
PhD student in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science or a related discipline (typically 4 years duration at EPFL)
PhD research visitor in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science or a related discipline (to spend some research time with us as part of a PhD program elsewhere)
Postdoc in Spectroscopy/Synthesis/Materials Science/Device Fabrication

Funded by Sascha’s recent ERC Starting Grant award, there is a new PhD opening focussed on ultrafast polarization-resolved spectroscopy and microscopy with a start date around July 2026!

Master’s thesis: In certain cases, external applicants can be funded through an ISIC Master Grant (1600 CHF monthly for 6 months, more information here). Please get in touch, if you are interested in pursuing your Master’s research with us.
