Join us at EPFL!

We are excited to grow further, so consider joining our team as:

  • Master’s thesis student in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science or a related discipline (from EPFL or worldwide; minimum duration expected to be spent in the group is 6 months)

  • PhD student in Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science or a related discipline (typically 4 years duration at EPFL)

  • PhD research visitor in Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science or a related discipline (to spend some research time with us as part of a PhD program elsewhere)

  • Postdoc in Spectroscopy/Synthesis/Materials Science/Device Fabrication

Update as of October 2025:

1) Funded by Sascha’s recent ERC Starting Grant award, there will be new openings on the PhD & postdoc level soon, with a focus on ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy! Expected advert release by January 2026 for a starting date around June 2026.

2) Applications are invited for an exciting new postdoc position on nanocrystal spectroscopy with a focus on single-photon emission. Nanocrystal synthesis experience is a plus, but photon coincidence spectroscopy experience (HBT/HOM) and ultrafast spectroscopy experience are more important.
